South Melbourne Market

South Melbourne Market

I went to the Imperial Hotel on Bourke Street to watch Manchester City play in the FA Cup final and there was a good turnout with loads of blues from England. It was a good night until the end of the game, I regret sending this tweet not asking for extra time. I also lost my Myki card on the way home to top off a bad night which you need in Melbourne to travel on the trains and trams and it had at least $30 on it.

Vue Grande Southbank Melbourne

Vue Grande

I finally found a flat to rent in Melbourne and moved to the Vue Grande in Southbank on Saturday. I hired a car to move my stuff from Seddon to my new flat and it was the easiest move I have ever done. It helped that my car park space is the same floor as my flat so I was able to move everything from the car to my flat without having to wait for the lift and it was all done in less than half an hour.

Launderette,self service

Launderette

I went to my first self-service launderette today, I kept expecting Dot Cotton to come out with a fag hanging from her mouth spreading some new gossip she had just heard but she was nowhere to be seen.

Crown Gold Class

Gold Class

I enjoy eating and watching films and in Australia we have Gold Class which is the first class of cinema entertainment. You can sit in a luxury reclining seat and have food delivered to you throughout the film. It is a great experience providing nobody sits next to you which thankfully has only happened once. I find booking last minute and selecting the middle seat increases your chances of having an empty seat next to you.

Sabroso,tapas

Sabroso Tapas

I went for an amazing tapas meal on Saturday night in Seddon at a place called Sabroso. I had three starters, one main and finished off with churro (Spanish doughnuts) and a chocolate dipping sauce. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful in explaining what the dishes were even though I had my trusty friend Google with me.

Easter Egg Joke

Easter

I started work this week after a long break and it went well. I am still staying at my friends house in Seddon so hopefully once I get my own place my commute to work will be shorter. I had a few teething problems, missing the train, getting on the wrong tram, trying to find somewhere to get lunch but hopefully that will all sort it self out very soon.

Melbourne Victory Football Club Perth

MVFC

I went to my first Melbourne Victory game against Perth Glory last night at AAMI Park which is a thirty thousand capacity stadium built for the football. We used to play at the Etihad Stadium which has a capacity of fifty three thousand seats but it was always empty so lacked any atmosphere. The seats are close to the pitch and reminded me of going to QPR where you can practically touch the players.

Iphone Temperature needs to cool down

iPhone Temperature

The past week in Melbourne has been very hot with temperatures rising above 30 degree Celsius and hitting 36/37 this week. I went to a job interview on Friday and I had to get my friend to drop me off at the door in her air conditioned car but when I left within 5 minutes I was dripping.

Seddon mashup

Pool Boy

I have moved out of the hotel I was staying whilst I recovered from my flight from England and I have now set up temporary residence at my friends house in Seddon. I had to get a trolley to help me move all my bags out of the hotel and I was grateful I never took the option to bring a third suitcase to Australia.

Qantas Melbourne

Back in Melbourne

I have landed back in Australia after a pleasant journey with Qantas. I have never flown with Qantas before and apart from the food on the plane it was very nice. It was on one of the new planes so it was disappointing to see that they had put such small tv screens in compared to Emirates. Emirates are well known for having the best in-flight entertainment in the industry so they have set the bar high.
