Housewarming party
The weather has been great in Melbourne the past couple of weeks. Warm and Sunny and since the clocks moved forward and we are now in Summer Time the sun is out later each day. This is the first summer in my new flat and the balcony is far superior to Eureka, I can come home from work at 5pm and catch the sun till it sets about 8pm creating an amazing orange sunset.

I think the reason I am not updating this website as regularly as I used to is all down to FaceBook, although I wish people would stop sending me links to useless applications. There are far to many developers out there with nothing better to do. Last week I reached the final stage of my permanent residency application to Australia, I now need to go offshore to an Australian Embassy to find out if it has been approved. On Monday I am going to fly to New Zealand so fingers crossed I will be back by the weekend as a permanent resident of Australia and only 12months away from my dual passport.

This may be the new city but they still scare me death and make watching them very hard.

Queens Birthday
Monday was a public holiday in Australia to celebrate the Queens 2nd birthday. It is quite funny as the reason for the 2nd birthday is for the British to celebrate when it is warm, the UK ignores it and Australia has the day off.
Leaving Lonely Planet
On Tuesday I left Lonely Planet after over 2 and half years working there. I had a great 2 years there and worked on some amazing projects but an opportunity came up and I felt the time was right for a change. I am starting my new job on Friday so expect an update next week. We went out for a drink on Tuesday for my farewell party and I got a Manchester City farewell card and an 8GB memory disc, you can never have enough memory discs. Judy, the owner of LP came to see me before I left to say thanks which I thought was a very nice thing to do and was totally unexpected.

wow 74 days since my last update ,its been a stressful period. I've moved out of Eureka and into my new flat in South Yarra. There is a video of the area so you can all check it out although the flat doesn't resemble the one I am in. It is a lot smaller at 2oorak but it forces me to keep the place tidy. So finally I'm in my flat, still with boxes everywhere. I've got a green plastic chair for dinner and a bean bag to watch TV. I desperately need a couch to sit on, lol.
Grand Final 2007
Friday Night I went on a office pub crawl around Fitzroy. It was a good laugh but with the walking and drinking in the heat I woke up on Saturday in a very bad way. I dont think it helped that the weather topped 100. I was supposed to be viewing flats but I felt so bad I could not more out of my flat so I just sat watching TV with the air con.
Mornington Peninsula
I rented a car this weekend and drove down the coast to the Mornington Peninsula which is just over an hours drive out of Melbourne City. The beaches there are a lot nicer with none of the city hustle. I stayed there all day on the beach, swimming, eating and sunbaking. I really loved being mobile and I realise how much freedom a car gives you, so I'm now on the hunt for a 2nd hand bargin.
Little Britain Live
Monday night I went to the Metro Club to see Lilly Allen play minus one band member who was refused entry in to Australia. She was very good despite her only having a handful of songs to perform. I suppose the advantage of that is you know that she is going to sing every song you love.
