Australian Open 2007
Friday was a public holiday for Australia Day so it has been a long weekend.
Very Very Hot
The past week here in Melbourne the weather has been between 90 and 100 making it a very sweaty week. On Friday it reached 102 and the air con at work broke down, so Friday morning was unbearable at work. The drought is getting worse and to give an exampe of how much water has been lost, the rivers are now dry and they are revealing weapons that people discarded years ago, I think some criminals will be a bit worried this week. As I live in a flat and I dont have a garden or car the restrictions have not affected me .... yet.
Burnt Arm
Last night I was making some duck and I ran out of disposable dishes so I placed the duck on some tin foil wrapped around an oven tray. When I took the duck out of the oven, all the juices ran off the tin foil and down my arm. Pain I can not describe shot up my arm and I then spent the rest of the evening putting layers of pain relief gel on.

I have not updated my site in a long time so here I go.Thank you all for your birthday cards, I did not do anything special for my birthday and just watched the Manchester Derby. The only good thing to come from that game was that I had bet on 3-1 and for Giggs to be man of the match.
Movember Morph
Finally the end of Movember, it was really getting itchy the last week. I never realised how hard it would be to get it off, but its finaly off :)

My Mo is going well, I have gone from a beard to a goatee and then finally some sort of handlebar mo. There will be a funny morph video showing my mo from day 1 to 30 at the beginning of December.
Movember
Today was a public holiday in Melbourne for the Melbourne Cup Race, which is a horse race that is ran every year. I went to a girls house, Tanya who used to work at Lonely Planet with me. She and her husband, Nev had a BBQ and invited some friends and family around. The weather was not the best but at least it was dry, you do not need the sun to have a BBQ in Australia.
Burnt Fingers
Ouch, I picked up the tray that goes inside the oven last night and I did not know that my hand was not fully covered by the towel. I picked it up and it was boiling hot but by the time my brain told me I was in pain it was to late. It took me so long to get my fingers off the grill that I now have a flame grilled look on my fingers. If you look carefully, you can see both my middle fingers with a nice grill look. < H3>Mazeltov to Francesca and Johnny on the news of the engagement. I am just waiting for a date now so I can book my flight.
