I went to my first Premier League derby today since I left to live in Australia and what a game it was. We inflicted Manchester United's worst home defeat since February 1955 as the boys thrashed United in ruthless fashion to go five points clear at the top of the Premier League. Coincidentally that game in 1955 was also against us when we won 5-0 so today we went even better and scored six but conceded one.

I came back from Leeds last night to see Manchester City attempt a first win in the Champions League at the third attempt and they left it till injury time to put us out of our misery. Thankfully we have a genius called Sergio Agüero who scored the winner to make the score 2-1 against Villarreal CF.

I took my nephew shopping this morning for toys and tried out a new place in Bury called Smyths and we had a great time, well I did. There are some amazing toys out there for kids but I am not sure giving a child under 2 a motorised forklift is a good idea. We did not leave empty handed and came away with a 3 wheeled, battery operated ride-on police bike which seemed less destructive.

Yesterday was the end of my three month contract working as a contractor for GE in Leeds. I accepted an extension for another three months but I am going to start working from Manchester two days a week and three days in Leeds.

I went to see Manchester City play Blackburn on Saturday and it felt like an end of season game with the sun shining and being able to dress in only my t-shirt although I did see a few people sweating away with scarves on.

Last night I went back to Manchester to see Manchester City play Napoli in the first ever Champions League in the borough of Manchester. The club put on an exhibition inside the stadium to welcome the UEFA delegates to Manchester and greeted the Italians with a sign saying benvenuti which means welcome in Italian.

I went to see Manchester City play today against Wigan and it was another rampant display with Sergio Aguero scoring a hat-trick and we won 3 nil. The trio of Silva, Aguero and Nasri are breathtaking to watch at times and a great display just before the start of our Champions League adventure against Napoli on Wednesday.

I went for lunch today at Jamie's Italian in Leeds which is owned by Jamie Oliver. The style of restaurant is self explanatory with lots of pukka tukka in a typical Jamie Oliver rustic style.
