Melbourne Weather
This is the satellite view of Australia and as you can see it is covered in clouds, apart from Perth where the weather always seems to be hot and sunny.
English Scran
I have been back in Melbourne for a week and I am happy to say I am over my jet lag. I have stopped falling asleep at 5PM and I now back to my regular sleeping pattern, which is all around football.
BA and Emirates
This is me chilling in my trackie dacks provided by British Airways first class on the way out of Australia. The plane was so old I am surprised it even was able to fly, service was the usual BA quality - CRAP lol. They just do not even try, no breakfast that was diary free and they just did not care.
Marcus Wedding
It was my brothers wedding in England last weekend and my brother, Josh and I were best men. My involvement was minor as I was on the other side of the world. It was simple, get on a plane and say a speech which suddenly made the 24 hour plane journey look the less daunting part of being best man.
The Comedy Train
Occasionally in Melbourne you may be treated to an impromptu piece of entertainment from the driver. I think they understand how frustrating the public transport is and do there best to make the journey more enjoyable. Last week I was lucky enough to listen to him telling jokes the whole journey, see the video.
Drinking on the Streets
I have been driven to the bottle, and not only drinking but drinking and smoking on the streets of Melbourne like a true Aussie. Friday I had three leaving parties and one welcome party with a double booking at one point.
Dishwasher Fixed
My dishwasher finally got fixed today 19 days after I first discovered it was broke and it has been hard. I have had broken air con, dryers, ovens, washing machines but this was without any doubt the one appliance I can not live without.
The Town
My dishwasher is still broke so I decided to go the gold class cinema and have my dinner whilst watching The Town with Ben Affleck. I was quite disappointed with The Town after all the hype it had received but I should have known better when I saw Ben Affleck was in it but the food was outstanding, the mini burgers and shoestring fries were amazing but once again I exceeded the amount of popcorn a human should digest in two hours.
Broken Dishwasher
I discovered on Sunday when I woke up that my dishwasher had broke and had stopped draining the water. I downloaded the manual from the website, I do not know why estate agents feel the need to keep the manuals so tenants have no idea how to work the appliances. I still can not get my air conditioning timer working after 3 years.
GodsKitchen
Last night Ben Spier was in Melbourne with his team playing Godskitchen. We started the night off by going to DJ Helena's penthouse for a drink of what resembled toxic waste and then heard her play at Q-Bar before we went to Godskitchen around 12.30am. It turned out the club Q-Bar is opposite my flat tucked away down an alley which is handy to know.
