It was the end of year financial drinks last night at the The George Hotel in South Melbourne. It was the first pub I had been in and also the first alcoholic drink that had passed through my lips since I got back to Australia.
We had a presentation before we went to the pub with a slide show showing photos of staff in various embarrassing poses and photo shopped. To my shock and horror I was featured twice in it yet despite the fact I have only been at the company for just over a quarter of the previous year. I always thought the guy was just one of those people who loves taking pictures all the time and had no knowledge that this is what they were for.
It was a fancy dress party so we had to come in dressed as something beginning with N, G or A which is the company I work for.
I was going to go as an Australian Nerdy Geek and ordered four T-shirts to complete my outfit but unfortunately they did not arrive in time so I had to make do with just being A Nice Guy. You only had to pick one letter but why not get all three in if you can.
I had a really good night as it made a nice change having something to do on a Friday night after work but after such a long time not drinking I may or should I say I know I should have drank less and a lot slower but thankfully I only live around the corner so I managed to get home easily enough.
