HI to everyone - Hope your all well Im writing from Cambodia Having a fantastic trip - it really is amazing here The people are great and very friendly It has a terrible history - a couple of days ago we visited the Killing Fields - very very sad. Because of the tragedies that have gone on here where Pol Pot the cambodian leader killed 50% of his own people - the population now is so young, 80% of them under 30 - so the place is very young and has a completely different feel to what we expect - but every single person we meet lost mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers to the Pol Pot Regime - and I do mean every single one - the people here who are 30 or over are all very lucky to be alive - Today we left Phon Phen the capital of Cambodia and arrived in Siem reap - we came by a little plane which fortunately made it ok - Tomorrow we're going to visit Anka Wat which is a recently discovered ancient site and is I think being called the 8th wonder of the world - Ill let you know what its like after ive been. To Simon - have met a great Aussie Guy from Melbourne - Managing Director of Street FM based in Melbourne - Dance music station maybe you have heard of it - he's here and has just been granted the license for Cambodians first music radio station. Ive his business card so Ill be able to send you the details if your interested, We've met loads of cool people from all over the world - russia, australia, japan, holland etc the list goes on, There are not many tourists here on the whole. its early days but there soon will be many in a few years, its a great great place. But quite poor...average annual salary around 250 pounds per year. The only disgusting thing is we've seen a few pedofiles who come here to exploit the kids but the police are getting stricter on policing the western filthy pervert men that come here for that - it really is disgusting and horrible, had me in tears one night it was so nasty what i saw but couldnt do much to help unfortunately. Apart from that everything else is great, We have a couple of Days left in Cambodia, then fly to Vietnam - we're in Vietnam for around 4 days then fly to Tokyo around the 1st/2nd Evertyhing going well so far, hope you are all well, and speak soon. I've heard about it there from people at work, it seems to be a popular place to go and visit. Have a good time. Nothing much to tell , xmas day on the beach and burnt my eyelids.
