Monday night I went to the Metro Club to see Lilly Allen play minus one band member who was refused entry in to Australia. Last night I saw and I can not describe how amazing that was. I was sat four rows from the front which was very scary when they came into the audience to grab people on stage and the guy in front of me was dragged up and then humiliated. read more
I have not updated this site in a long time, over two months actually. Foxtel (Australia version of SKY) are treating the viewers this EPL season to viewers choice. If 5 live games per weekendwere not enough, this year if we are not happy with the 3pm choice we can hit the red button and select from another 4 games!!!. read more
I finally received my letter telling me when I can say my pledge to Australia and officially become an Australian Citizen. It is in September but I am not allowed to call them before my welcome pack arrives, it is all very exciting, who knows what it will contain. After saying my pledge which will complete the citizenship process I can then apply for my passport, I do not know anyone else who has had to wait 7 months from passing the test to saying the pledge but I ... read more

What an end to the week, everyone has been so busy working on a new project that I was left to build a chat application for travellers to be featured on the lonely planet website. After a successful launch most of the team had bloody maries but as it was only 8am and I still had a busy day ahead I declined and instead headed upstairs to the cafe for a coffee and some toast. It is sleep sleep sleep for me this weekend. read more
It has nearly been a year since I left England (not counting the brief trip back home) and it has flown. I am finally over it now and I had a BBQ at work and some drinks on Friday night and it was boiling. Sat night I saw City score live for the first time but I do not understand how we did not win that game, I am puzzled. read more
This weekend in Melbourne was the Greek Festival. A lot of the main roads in the city were closed and turned into a fairground with rides, food stalls and a live concert of authentic Greek music. Starting with Tevez signing and then the funny 'Welcome to Manchester' poster, great minds think alike as I had already twittered that headline a day earlier. They managed to top that by streaming the game to everyone and what a great job they did, the technical team that is but it was our B team, I hope they continue to stream them all so we can see our new signing, !

What a crazy week in Melbourne. I woke up to find my water bed had burst a leak and then remembered I don't have a water bed! LOL It is very hard to fry (my oven is broke) and then discover your flat is full of smoke , so you have to open the balcony before the smoke alarm goes off but it is like opening an oven and getting a blast of hot air rushing in. read more
The past week here in Melbourne the weather has been between 90 and 100 making it a very sweaty week. On Friday it reached 102 and the air con at work broke down, so Friday morning was unbearable at work. The drought is getting worse and to give an exampe of how much water has been lost, the rivers are now dry and they are revealing weapons that people discarded years ago, I think some criminals will be a bit worried this week. read more

I was sat last night watching TV in the dark when I noticed something moving in the corner of my eye. When I stood up the cat turned around and must have got the shock of its life and it bolted towards the balcony door and onto the balcony never to be seen again. Now I know that leaving my balcony door open is leaving me at risk to certain insects, but I always expected to see flying things rather than a four legged animal coming through the door. read more
