17th October 05 Melbourne Victory

I went to the football on Sunday, the sun was shining and I walked along the river to the stadium which made a change from Moss Side.

Sydney FC came down to Melbourne for a top of the table clash and we won 5-0 and then Manchester City produced a stunning display apart from the finishing to top off an excellent weekent. One stand were chanting What a waste of money whenever Yorke had the ball, he started in attack, dropped into midfield and ended the game in defence!!

Below is some of the match report...

Melbourne Victory has moved to the top of the Hyundai A-League table after the most devastating football display of the season to date, hammering an undisciplined Sydney FC by a massive five goals to nil. Sydney was humiliated by an Archie Thompson inspired Victory outfit, who turned out a second half performance that has sent an ominous warning to their A-League rivals. A capacity crowd of over 18,000 fans turned up to see Archie and Kevin Muscat battle it out for top scorer honours, with the pair securing braces in the rampant display, with Sydney FC ending the game with Dwight Yorke filling several holes in the visitors defence.

  1. Hi we are no longer at Moss Side!..Citys best performance of the season..fast flowing football..with great perfomances by some of the young players not forgetting Andy Coles goal of the season watched by Errikson!

  2. it was a great performance, I woke up 1am to watch it so I was buzzing to see such a display. It is a shame that we could not have scored some goals to help the goal difference and maybe move up another place? Going above ManUre would have been a nice bonus. Are you both ready for America?

  3. I am at Gatwick now and going to Spain 6.00am on business for the day.Been in London all day in meetings.Looking forward to seeing you and getting excited at the thought of out trip/holiday although have not starting packing yet..miss you Love Dad x
